Badgers Wood Cancellation Policy:


This is very much the legal bit we need to make you aware of which can be difficult to write down however we appreciate, and the reality is, that travel or holiday plans do sometimes change. Our aim here is to provide you with clarity about how we deal with booking cancellations or booking amendments. We strongly recommend Travel Insurance, covering cancellation, be obtained especially for stays for longer than two nights even if you live in the UK. It is relatively cheap and easy to acquire via the internet or over the telephone.

When booking accommodation either by telephone or in writing you and Badgers Wood enter into a legally binding contract and we note below how we deal with changes to your booking:

  1. Failure to turn up on the arrival date with no notification to us - full cost of the accommodation. A refund will be given if we are able to re-let the room(s) for all nights reserved.
  2. Cancellation or amendment (as appropriate) of the booking less than fourteen days of arrival date - full cost of the accommodation. This will be refunded if we are able to re-let the room(s) for all nights reserved.
  3. Cancellation or amendment (as appropriate) of the booking more than fourteen days of arrival date - cost of the first nights accommodation. This will be refunded if we are able to re-let the room(s) for all nights reserved.

That said we will make the utmost effort to re-let the room(s) booked, but there are times when it may not be possible to do so, especially if cancellation or amended is made at short notice.

If we cannot fully re-let rooms cancelled or any dates amended the payment which becomes due will be charged to the debit or credit card number provided at the time the booking was made in order to secure the booking. In providing debit or credit card details the card holder is agreeing to and providing us with authority to make such charges to the card should the need arise. The cardholder should be aware that where several rooms are booked on behalf of a group of guests then any cancellation or booking amendment costs associated will be charged to the card details we are given.

We always suggest that individual members of a group arrange their accommodation directly with us and provide their own card details which can then be used to cover any cancellation or booking amendment situation.

Finally, we would add that we have had relatively few occasions when we have had to charge for booking cancellations or amendments as we ask our guests to let us know as soon as possible of a potential booking amendment or cancellation in order that we have the best opportunity to re-let the room(s).
